Yeshe "Yeshito" Wingerd
is a Flamenco Guitarist and teacher based in the San Francisco Bay Area. He began playing folk and rock guitar at age 15 and Flamenco guitar at age 19. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Colorado College after intensive study of Classical and Jazz music theory and Flamenco Guitar. He then moved to Sevilla, Spain to study Flamenco Guitar as a scholarship student at the Fundación Cristina Heeren de Arte Flamenco. In Sevilla he studied extensively with Flamenco Guitar Masters: Eduardo Rebollar, Pedro Sierra, Niño de Pura, Paco Cortés, Javier Gómez, and Pedro Sánchez. He also studied Flamenco history and theory with Pepa Sánchez, the daughter of legendary Flamenco singer, Naranjito de Triana. After two years at the Fundación, he was awarded a diploma in excellence. In 2010 he moved to San Francisco and is now teaching and performing regularly in the Bay Area.
